Clyde Rodney Martinez Jr.

Clyde "DD" Rodney Martinez Jr, age 45, of Ganado, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born to Clyde and Mary Jane Martinez. He was a resident of Austin, Texas where he is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 27 years; son, Damien; and daughter, Alexis. Clyde is also survived by his father, Clyde Martinez Sr; mother, Mary Jane Martinez; mother-in-law, Eva C. de Baca; brother, Jeffrey Martinez and wife, Rebecca; sister Michelle DeHerrera and husband Mike; sister, Melissa Wells; and sister-in-law, Sharon Maldonado and husband, Floyd. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and countless extended family & close friends whose names are too many to mention. You all know who you are and know that you are his family.

Clyde is preceded in death by his Granddaughter, Silvia Martinez; Grandfathers Anastacio Martinez and Santiago Rodriguez; Grandmothers, Vilia Martinez and Janie Arriaga Rodriguez; and Aunts, Lorraine Martinez and Betty Jo Ruiz.

Clyde was a devoted trophy husband, loving father, a caring friend to all, and as he called himself, a local celebrity. No matter where we went, he knew someone who looked up to him. He was a very young, retired Correctional Officer, and a jack of all trades. Clyde was our bodyguard, our mechanic, our chauffeur, our chef, our hair stylist, our psychiatrist, our best friend, our cheerleader, our bank, our tailor, our housekeeper, our personal assistant, our biggest supporter, and EVERYTHING in between! Clyde was a generous man and lived every moment for his family and did whatever he could to help everyone he met. Clyde will TRULY be missed!!!

New Mexico Memorial Services for Clyde will be held at the Valley Baptist Church located at 202 Damon St, Rio Communities, NM 87002, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021. His service will be followed by an outdoor celebration of his life at Anna Becker Park located at 315 North 4th Street, Belen, NM 87002, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

Texas Memorial Services for Clyde will be held at the Ganado KJT Hall located at 1433 TX-522 Loop, Ganado, TX 77962, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021. His service will be followed by a celebration of his life there at the KJT Hall, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.
