Charley Pierson was a man of great faith, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was born June 8, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas to C.W. and Lenora Pearl Dudley Pierson and passed away on October 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, he was 76 years old.
Charley was an ordained minister for the Assemblies of God for over 50 years, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, traveling to many interesting places. He served overseas as a missionary in Ghana, Alaska and Germany and for many years as a pastor and teacher at churches around the state of Texas. He also loved to read, always had a garden to tend and enjoyed just being out in nature. He also enjoyed a great cup of coffee and chocolate. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Education from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi in 1982. In his spare time you could always find him painting, drawing or sketching plants from his beloved gardens.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nova Goodwin Pierson; 4 children; Joy Felix and husband, Anthony, Ruth Adams and husband, John, Nanette Pierson; and Charley Thomas Pierson and wife, Bethany; 4 grandchildren, Logan Adams, Jared Felix, Natalia Felix and Evangeline Adams; 3 brothers, Billy Pierson and wife, Mandy, Dale Pierson and wife, Grace and Danny Pierson along with sister, Esther Allen and husband, Jerry. He is preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Lenora Pierson.
Charley will be laid to rest on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 10:00am at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery with memorial services at his church at a later date.
