In Georgetown, Texas at 3:26 pm on February 15, 2013, at the age of 94, Carol E. Kessel was called home to be among the angels with the love of her life, Herbert Kessel, whom she has missed dearly since his passing, 29 years ago.
Carol enjoyed a life full of various experiences. During WWII, she served as a telephone operator and served a vital role for the community in such a manner. She dedicated her life to her Catholic faith and always took everyone’s hardships on for them in spirit, giving their issues up to God, in prayer and faith. She was the cornerstone for her family, both immediate and extended. She always had an ear to lend and a shoulder to lean on. There’s not a life she’s touched who won’t miss her gentle and caring ways.
Welcoming Carol at the gates of heaven are those who went ahead to prepare for her welcome: Husband, Herbert Kessel; Sister, Jean Morgan; and Brother, Robert Edwards.
Left behind to live and celebrate in the legacy of Carol’s life are: Daughter, Hazel Leman of Austin, TX; Sister, Francis Corrado of Washington, D.C.; Grandson, Raymond McWilliams of Austin, TX; Grandson, Randy McWilliams and wife Danette of Leander, TX; Granddaughter, Heather Schlueter and husband Kenny of Port Aransas, TX; Jill McWilliams of Austin, TX; Grandson, Tony Nolen of Round Rock, TX; Danny and Gina McWilliams of Abingdon, MD. Extended family – Mike and Susan Mathias & Family; Richard and Kimberlie Young & family; 6 immediate great-grandsons, 1 immediate great-granddaughter, 1 extended great-grandson, and 2 extended great-granddaughters.
Also left to celebrate in Carol’s memory are those of the great family from St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, TX. They made it a point to bring communion and celebration of Carol’s Savior to her when she could not travel to church. Additionally, those who helped care for Carol in her last few months while she resided at Estrella Oaks will also live in the great memories of Carol’s wonderfully rich legacy.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at Restlawn Cemetery in El Paso, Texas on Friday, February 22, 2013.
