Barry Dean Brown, age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, December 5, 2024. Barry was born July 13, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas to the late William and Dorothy Brown. Mr. Brown resided in the Austin area for most of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. In the summer of 1976, he met the love of his life Dorothy. They were happily married for 47 years and had 2 children. Barry worked for IBM for 21 years, and finished his career with The Home Depot until his retirement in 2011. He loved the game of soccer and coached both his daughters throughout their childhood. Barry was a man of many interests, including a love for rock and roll, classic cars, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching old westerns, and “The Price is Right”. What had Barrys heart the most though was his 5 grandkids.
Barry is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brown; daughters, Angela (Coy) Mosser, April (Jermaine) Brown; grandchildren, Jadynn Brown, Aiden Mosser, Kaylana Tuck, Kaylee Tuck, Aftynn Mosser; also survived are many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Dorothy Brown; brother, Arthur Duane Brown.
Barry’s family and friends will remember him as a loving and supportive husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend who brought joy and laughter to their lives. His legacy of loyalty and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until service time. Barry will be laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. Food and fellowship will follow the services.
