Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lori (nee McCracken), his children Andrew (Michele), Cati (Alex), and his three grandchildren, Emily, Lucas and Madi. He is also survived by his sisters, Denise, Florence (Rocco) and Kim (Dave). His cherished dog Daisy is lost without her Daddy.
Steve was predeceased by his beloved parents Margaret and Denis Taylor, as well as his birth mother Shirley Pilon.
Steve was adopted as an infant into the loving arms of Margaret and Denis Taylor and spent his formative years in Agincourt, Ontario. When he was in high school he discovered he had a love of cooking and pursued a career as a chef, however after the birth of his son and then his daughter, a career change was in order.
Steve went on to become a high school teacher at both Timothy Eaton Business and Technical Institute and then at Bendale BTI. He wasn’t just a teacher, he also mentored students and helped them to grow as people and, he coached the hockey team. He loved teaching cooking and baking, he loved his students and most of all he loved being able to spend time with us, his family,
He also loved his Toronto Maple Leafs, right to the end.
His summers were spent at his favourite place on planet earth, Buckshot Lake. His winters were spent with Andrew and Cati at hockey and making many, many friendships over the years. This last year he was able to watch Emily (granddaughter) start her sojourn into hockey.
Steve will be missed greatly by all who knew him. There are no words to express how much.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Steve loved a party and what a great way to gather with those that loved, admired, laughed and celebrated with Steve over the years.
