March 17, 1951 – October 25, 2024
It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Moira Lynette Fleming on October 25, 2024. Moira is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Chris Fleming, their dearly loved children, Rowan (Lilli) and Julie (Andrew), and their treasured grandchildren, Gemma, Jonah, Charlotte, Simon and Patrick. Younger sister to Kevin (Gill) and Kingsley (Anne), sweet sister-in-law to David, Nigel and Drew (Jess), and most favourite aunt to Bronwyn (Greg), Murray (Val), Rogan (Bryce), Christy (Ewen), Cate (Jonathan), Kate (Rob), Michael (Mary), Cameron and Serena. Great-aunt and great friend to so many others.
Moira’s passing will leave a void in all our hearts that cannot be filled. Her kindness, love and compassion were unmatched. She gracefully created and held space for everyone, sharing their joy and empathizing deeply with their sadness. Thoughtful and generous to the extreme, she never missed an important milestone or a chance to celebrate her loved ones. She was the anchor of our family and the heart of every group she joined. Her love and infectious joy will endure in all of us.
The Lord called her home at her favourite time of year, with fall colours at their peak. Predeceased by her loving parents, Dorothy and Charles Martin, and some dear friends, we know her comfort in death is great. She leaves behind loved ones far and wide, too many to count. Her beautiful spirit will have to be shared between these two worlds a while longer.
A celebration of Moira’s extraordinary life will take place on Sunday, December 8, at 1–5 PM at the Farmhill Weddings venue, 2709 Dillon Road, Keene.
A virtual memorial has been created at ComstockKaye.com In lieu of flowers, please consider making a charitable donation in Moira’s honour to the YES Shelter for Youth and Families and/or One City Peterborough, who work tirelessly to combat homelessness in our city, a cause close to Moira’s heart.
