1937-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hank Todd on Monday October 21, 2024 in his 87 year.
He will be sadly missed by and is survived by his wife Pauline (Nee Heffernan) and his sister Isabell Smith. Hank was beloved and fiercely proud of all his children, Kim Garland (Ross), Terri Crough (Mike), Jim Todd (Vicki), Lynn Todd, and his grandchildren Katie Brown (Shawn), Amy and Michael Crough (Nicole), Uri, Winnie and Tommy Todd, Jode Stockdale (Kyle), Lou Warner (Justin) and great grandchildren Jensen Stockdale, Dean Brown and Aurora Ferguson. Hank is predeceased by his parents Fred and Lavina, his sister Beverly Thompson, his brother Max Todd and his grandson Scott Garland. Hank will also be missed by his dear friend Bob Gandy in addition to many friends, nieces, nephews, brother in laws and sister in laws.
For those were fortunate to have known him, Hank will always be remembered for his love of life, great sense of humour, and perhaps the occasional really bad joke. He was never at a lack of words and loved engaging conversation. He was a kind caring gentleman.
After attending High School at PCVS Hank was employed as a steel plate fitter/welder at CGE, he then joined the RCMP where he remained a long-time member of the RCMP Veterans Association. He left the RCMP and proudly served with the Peterborough City Police for 30 years until he retired as a Staff Sargent in 1990. In 1984 he was awarded a Police Exemplary Service Metal by the Governor General of Canada. Hank was also a private pilot with the Peterborough Flying Club.
Visitation will be held Wednesday November 6, 2024, 4:00pm - 7:30pm and a Celebration of Life will be held Thursday November 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Five Counties Children Centre Foundation, Peterborough would be greatly appreciated.
