Christina Murrel Olver (nee Hartley-Wight) (formerly Kerneghan)
Peacefully, at Extendicare Peterborough, on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 85 years of age. Murrel was the beloved wife of the late John David Olver (2001) and Donald Kerneghan (1970). Predeceased by her son David Andrew Kerneghan (1999). Survived by his wife Maribeth (Stephen) of Brockville. Loving Grandma of Phillip and his fiancé Colleen of Cambridge and Tori of Peterborough. Step-mother of David Olver and his wife Kim and their children Pyper & Rayne of Port Stanley, Ontario. Murrel is survived by her siblings Murray Wight of Cavan, Jean and her husband Keith McDougall, Ann and her husband Al Snelgrove all of Peterborough and their families. Murrel worked as a nurse from 1950 until her retirement. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm and Monday, December 9, 2012 beginning at 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:30 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario (705) 745-4683. Interment to follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial donations to Salvation Army (Noah’s Pennies) or Nicholls-Civic Nurses Alumnae Prize would be appreciated by Murrel’s family.
