Beverley Jean Austin

It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Beverley Jean Austin of Peterborough, announces her peaceful passing at Lakefield Extendicare on November 27, 2022 at the age of 93 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Nancy Van Tol (Martin), Sharon Willshaw (Wayne), Susan Willshaw (Jim) and Carol Keller; grandchildren: Bryan Van Tol (Paula), Jan Van Tol (Katja), Jason Van Tol (Christine), Amy Willshaw (William), Sean Willshaw (Alison), Jennifer Robertson (Kirk), Peter Keller, Kelly Austin and Katie Austin; great grandchildren: Sara, Emma, Carter, Jayden, Hannah, Luke, Nathan, Logan, Rylan, Audrey, Sebastian, Lennon and Stella; Nephews: Bob Weaver (Rieta) and Don Weaver; Niece: Joan Osborne (Gene) as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her children: Wayne Austin, Paul Austin (Debi) and Brian Austin; sister: Rosmond Weaver (Ward); and parents: Harold and Alice McLean. Born and raised in Peterborough, Beverley was devoted to her family and was always helping others, especially children. She spent many hours volunteering at King George Public School Library, passing on her love of books and reading to everyone she could. She loved to bake, making cakes for everyone she knew and when she was not baking, she was sewing. She was a very accomplished seamstress. Beverley was also frequently found working in her large garden at home and watching the many birds and wildlife that visited there. A private graveside service will be held at Beverley’s request. Friends and relatives will be received at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St. Peterborough, ON K9H 4C7 on December 10, 2022 at 12pm. Memorial donations may be made in Beverley’s name to The Alzheimer Society Unit 18 – 360 George St. N. Peterborough, Ontario K9H 7E7.
