Mary Louise Underwood was born on September 21, 1945 to J.D. and Josephine Gaskins of Nuevo, California. Mary was introduced to James Leroy Underwood by Frances Underwood, and on June 24, 1967. They were married at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside, California.
From 1974-2009, Mary was a teacher’s assistant at Nuview Elementary School. With retirement, came many vacations and good times with her family and close friends. Mary very much enjoyed crocheting and reading – two of her favorite hobbies. During the holidays, family dinners were a big deal to her and it mattered to her that they family was together making memories.
Mary was loving, caring, giving, understanding, and a hardworking mother. She was always eager to help anyone when they were in need. Mary will always be in our hearts and minds. Her memory will love on for all eternity.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Josephine Gaskins, her loving husband, James Underwood, and her brother, Bill Gaskins. She is survived by her two children, Debbie and Chris Underwood, and her three sisters, Betty Rossetti, Susan Blakely, and Donna Grable.
