He was born May 17, 1934 in Peoria to Fredrick and Margaret (Hensler) Larke. He married Jean Fidler Aug. 22, 1959 in Trivoli, IL. She survives along with one son, Thomas (Susan) Larke of Peoria; two granddaughters, Megan Larke and Emily Larke, both of Peoria; one sister, Betty (Ray) Little of Peoria Heights and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Ted Larke.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid fisherman. His love of the outdoors was displayed through his art. Bill was a talented wood carver. His works of art included the wildlife that he loved to watch, mostly birds, but also included owls, turtles and whimsical creations.
Bill was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
He was a cable repairman for Illinois Bell for 32 years retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Artisans of Illinois and the IBEW.
Funeral services will be Saturday December 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home at 2408 W. Willow Knolls Dr., Peoria. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
