William R. Gammage

William Royce "Bill" Gammage, 87, of Lisle Illinois, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living in Lisle. He was born on June 9, 1937 in Americus, Georgia, a son of Edward Alsey Gammage and Mary Lee (Mask) Gammage. Bill married Linda Snow (Merritt) Gammage on July 25, 1965 in Ashland Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2018 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his son, William Bryan Gammage, and daughter in-law Jennifer Anne (Schreiner) Gammage of Oak Park Illinois; and his two grandsons, Aaron Addison Gammage of Oak Park, and Noah Daniel Gammage of Urbana Illinois.

He served his country in the United States Army, serving from 1962 to 1966 as a specialist in the Fifth Army.

Bill worked as a case manager for the Illinois Department of Employment Security for over 35 years before retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion Post # 2 in Peoria.

There will be no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
