Wayne J. Jones Sr.

He was born on September 28, 1937 to the late Owen P. and Mae (Woodard) Jones in Peoria. He married Marty Mann in Peoria and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2019.

Wayne was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by six children, Shirl (Ed) LaBarre of WI, Wayne (Lori) Jones, Jr. of Peoria, Tammy (John) Moews of IN, Victoria Jones of IL, Gina (Chris) Petitpas of FL, and Mary (Chris) Walker of AZ; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Jones of IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired in 2002 after 40 years at Bemis Bag Company where he was an Engraver, having designed logos and packaging for an array of different companies. Wayne was a simple man that enjoyed simple pleasures like hunting and fishing. He and Marty were avid gardeners and Wayne loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Chaplain Dwight Winnett will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour before the funeral, beginning at 5:00 PM.

Memorials in honor of Wayne may be made to American Heart Association.
