She was born July 23, 1937 in Peoria to Pearl and Alta Pearl (Kidd) Miller. She married Earl "Whitey" Whitehead Jr., on July 25, 1990 in Johnson City, TN. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Russell Fugitt Jr., eight siblings; and one grandson, Jeremy Allen Fugitt.
Surviving are her three children, Angela Whitehead of Washington, Mike Fugitt and Bruce (Peggy) Fugitt both of Groveland; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Violet worked in the Print Shop and Shipping and Receiving at Bradley University for over 27 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Morton and love camping, fishing, sewing and Crocheting. She also loved to listen to Elvis and helped with printing for the Northern Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department. Violet had a great love for animals and ran Poodle Paradise, where she cared for many dogs through the years.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Morton. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
