He was born on January 25, 1924 in Mapleton, IL to Thomas E. and Pearl V. (Beetler) Wallace. He married Helen J. Martin on September 15, 1951 in Glasford, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pearl Cole and one brother Merlin Wallace..
Surviving is his wife, Helen of Peoria, two children, Thomas M. (Paula) Wallace of Ottawa and Jean (Marc) Benjoya of Buffalo Grove, IL. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Danielle and Arielle Benjoya and Bryce Wallace.
Thomas served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked as a Marine Superintendent for F/S Services in Kingston Mines and then as a Facility Manager for the Mendota Feed Mill. He then worked as a Terminal Manager for Growmark C/F Industries in Kingston Mines, working a total of over 47 years. Thomas was a former member of the Glasford American Legion Post, the Mendota Elks Lodge and served on the board at the Mendota Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing in Northern Minnesota, raising dogs and loved woodworking.
