I had it made
Clothes to wear, food to eat, a warm bed, enough said.
Mom and dad, a wonderful sis, friends at school, nothing to miss.
Good schools, teachers too, whatever I can, a desire to do.
Taught respect, manners too, love for god, here's the news.
I had it made
Playground at school, south park close, by neighborhood friends, no need to cry.
Christmas gifts, end of war, dad came home, alone no more.
Good memories, no drugs to tempt, no war to fight, life was right.
An inner strength, confident I could, pride from where, not understood.
I had it made
Graduate, decent job, good pay with benefits, thanks to god.
Navy time, sailor friends, I won't forget, I’d do it again.
A loving wife, good boys too, make a change, I wouldn't do.
End of life, don't despair, I’ll be with mom, somewhere up there.
I had it made
