She was born March 22, 1943 in Peoria to Leo and Margaret (Vandervort) LaFeber. She married Eugene Roberts Dec. 12, 1962 in Riverside, CA. He passed away Jan. 8, 2015 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Leo “Bud” and Gerald LaFeber, and one sister, Delores Wilts.
Survivors include one son, Jim (Lynne) Roberts of Peoria Heights, one daughter, Christine (Skip) Owens of Pekin, five grandchildren: Ron “RJ” (Micelle) Owens, Josh (Kandice) Roberts, Jake Roberts, Danielle Brubaker, Kristen Brubaker, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, who she was very proud of and loved dearly.
Sharon was a graduate of Academy of Our Lady in 1961. She worked for OSF St. Francis Medical Center in the Lab Billing Dept. for 25 years retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights and the Humane Society.
Sharon was a very caring and compassionate person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed for she was the “rock of our family”.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A Rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Additional visitation will be from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
