He was born July 3, 1943 in Peoria to Hiley and Iva (Hard) Knight. He married Beverly Jean Ray on May 25, 1972 in Peoria. She survives along with three sons: Brian and Tina (Kearns) Knight of Peoria, Alec Knight of Morton, Curtis and Kelly (Smith) Knight of Twin Lakes, WI, six grandchildren: Chloe, Amy, Julia, Tiffany, Audrey, and Nolan. He is also survived by one brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Knight of Paris, IL, and two sisters: Glenda (Mert) Campbell of Michigan and Janice (Mike) Mahon of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Loren and James Knight.
Ron was a United States Navy veteran and was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 42 years retiring in 2002. He was also a member of El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
