Bob was born May 15, 1943 in Pittsfield, IL, the son of the late Russell H., and E. Kathleene (Robinson) Orrill.
He married Pamela K. Cowan Williams on September 6, 1997 and she survives. Also surviving are sons; Robert H. Jr., of Mansfield, TX, and Bryan (Jody) Williams of Bartonville, daughters; Shannon Orrill of Peoria, Angela Connor of Peoria, and Kelly (Jim) Oldfield of Skokie, a brother Ronald (Debbie) Orrill of Washington, sisters; Rebeccah Mayes of Sumrall, MS, Rhonda McCartney of Morton, Rita (Bob Hasty) Pulling of Morton, and his mother in law Patricia Dykes of Peoria. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, Joanne (Dick) Sternberg and Judy Passini from previous marriages.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and son Michael Mason.
Bob retired from Caterpillar in 2002 as a purchasing manager in East Peoria after forty plus years of service. Following retirement, Bob went back to work at Caterpillar for A.T.S. for another five years.
Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Peoria. He was a master mason and Past Master of Temple Lodge #46 A.F. & A.M., and was a member of: Alta Lodge #748 A.F. & A.M., Cathedral Lodge #1179 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria where he received the Meritorious Service Award and was coroneted a 33 degree honorary member of the Supreme Council, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Chicago, York Rite Bodies of Peoria, Blaney Commandery, St. Helena Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Mohammed Temple Shriners, Royal Order of Jesters Court 40, Illinois College Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis, and AMVETS Post 64. Bob was also active in the Scottish Rite Drama Club for many years and was in several Cat Chorus shows. At Corn Stock Theater he was a lead in To Kill A Mockingbird plus Titanic, and Tragedy and Trial at the CST Winter Playhouse. At Peoria Players he was the lead in Dial “M” for Murder and several musicals although the joke was he couldn’t sing! Bob was also an avid NASCAR fan.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Monday, May 9, 2016 at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday at the funeral home.
