He was born December 5, 1925 in Streator, IL to Claude and Josephine Hubble and was the beloved husband for 63 years of the late Caryl (Junis) Hubble.
He is survived by son Mark (Carol) Hubble of Wheaton, IL and daughter Susan (Charles) Burchell of Hattiesburg. He was the proud grandfather of Geoffrey (Kerri) Hubble and great-grandfather of Ellie Hubble and soon-to-arrive twin great-granddaughters of Aurora, CO. Also surviving are his brother, John Hubble of Peoria, extended family Ann Sepich of Tucson, AZ, Marvin and Lila Williams of Kearney, NE, Fran and JoAnne Junis of Peru, IN, Mike and Marcia Ritschel of Colorado Springs, CO, Jim McCollum of Peoria and numerous nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings.
Bob was an Army veteran who served his country in WWII and Korea, earning a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the French Legion of Honor. As an Operating Engineer through IUOE Local 649, he was a skilled heavy equipment operator for several Peoria construction companies, finishing his career with Peoria Blacktop. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing the Illinois River with friends and relatives.
A humble man, who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, he was always willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors. His compassion for others and his engaging smile will be fondly remembered.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 27, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 West Willow Knolls Rd, Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Paul Arnold will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson Disease Association or American Cancer Society.
