Robert E. "Bob" Barnett

West Peoria – Robert E. “Bob” Barnett, Sr., 76, of West Callender St, West Peoria, passed away at 11:20 AM on Monday February 16, 2015 at Unity Point-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on June 8, 1938 in Peoria to Carl and Frances (Stanley) Barnett. He married Jearld Dean Barnwell in Peoria on November 20, 1959. She survives; along with six children Mark Barnwell of Burlington, IA, Bonnie (Mike) Fuller and Robert (Melody) Barnett Jr both of Peoria, Lora Barnett of Pennsylvania, Wanda (Paul Sr.) Parris of Peoria, and Carl (Dawn) Barnett of East Peoria; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother James (Joyce) Barnett of Peoria and one sister Helen Harper of Havana. He was preceded by his parents, two grandchildren Kurtis Parris and Serenity Barnett, one brother, Harry Barnett and two sisters, Margaret Barnett and Mary Bomhold.

Bob had worked for Caterpillar Co. Inc. for over thirty years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of UAW local 974 in East Peoria. He loved his family, his dogs, wrestling, old cars, and the Cubs.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Bruce Dow will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday February 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the family through South Side Bank.
