Born on January 20, 1954, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert Walden and JoAnn Kay Looft, he married Lillian Viera on October 14, 1994.
Rex was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother and is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Viera; son, Alexander Walden; mother, Judith Walden; brother, Michael Walden (Michael Payette); sisters, Kim (Todd) Snarr and Debra (David) Kenny; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Walden; biological mother, JoAnn Kay Looft; aunt, Dulcie Hinrichs; sister, Connie Cavanagh; and grandparents, Ethel and Charles Looft and James and Ella Walden.
Rex graduated from Richwoods High School and went on to earn Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. While residing in California, he dedicated over 30 years of his career to Xerox Corporation as a computer programmer, where his expertise and innovation were highly valued.
An individual disciplined in health and fitness, Rex also enjoyed home renovation projects, gardening, and entertaining friends and family. His intelligence, caring nature, and knack for tackling complex projects were evident in both his personal and professional life.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 1. The Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rex's legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
