Mary Anna “Annie” Cox, age 87, of Peoria, passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at 11:57 a.m. at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born August 16, 1926 in New Boston, IL to Robert and Eileen Hays. She married Charles W. Cox, July 28, 1946 in Aledo, IL. He passed away November 17, 2010 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany Jo, one brother, Robert Hays and one infant sister, Vicki Hays. Survivors include one daughter, Ann (Chuck) Oliver of Pekin, one son, Joseph Cox of Ballwin, MO, four grandchildren: Cassandra Oliver of Pekin, Lyndsey (Cory) Critchell, Ansley Cox, Jason Cox all of the St. Louis area, two great-granddaughters: Avery Critchell and Fiona Cullen, and one sister, Virginia “Ginny” Hays of Monmouth. Annie was the Assistant Department Head of Medical Records at Methodist Hospital retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First Federated Church in Peoria, and was an avid bowler and golfer. Annie and her husband Charles were active members of Arrowhead Country Club in Chillicothe for many years. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First Federated Church in Peoria. Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Entombment will be in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in Parkview Cemetery following the services.
