Marianne J. Meinders

Marianne J. Meinders, 86, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Unity Point\Proctor Hospital in Peoria surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 22, 1930 in Bradford, Illinois to Cecil and Thilda (Christianson) Rusk. She married Harold R. Meinders on July 19, 1947 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2012 in Chillicothe, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by four sons, Loren Meinders of Peoria, Lawrence Meinders of Woodford County, David (Cyndi) Meinders of Marquette Heights, Illinois and Rickey (Marlow) Meinders of Brimfield; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. One brother Glen (Marilyn) Rusk of Dunlap and two sisters Janice Pyles of Lacon and Norma (Fred) Werkle of Chillicothe.

She and her husband managed for over 40 years the Valley Lakes Country Club, now called Valley Lakes Center. She was a member for over 30 years the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Davison Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home. The Rev. Craig Stanford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Swan Lake Mausoleum in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
