Dr. Mahasukh "Max" Shah, 87, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on August 13, 1934 in Botad, India, a son of Himatlal H. and Kanchanben (Sanghvi) Shah. Max married Mira Doshi on March 3, 1964 in Mumbai, India. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Arti Shah of Montclair, NJ; his son, Ashish (Christiane) Shah of Wilmette; and four grandchildren, Alisha Gomez-Shah of Evanston, Alexandra Gomez-Shah of Richmond, VA, and Anna and Ava Shah, both of Wilmette. His siblings Jyotiben (Manjuben) Sanghvi, Chandrakant Bhai and Jitendra Bhai Shah.
Mahasukhbhai was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Urmilaben (Deviben) Doshi.
He received his medical degree from the University of Mumbai.
Max continued his specialization and practiced Psychiatry and Neurology in the USA.
An avid traveler who visited almost 60 countries and lived in 5 of them. Part of his daily routine included reading multiple newspapers. He loved gatherings with his family and friends both near and far.
Max's celebration of life gathering will be from 2pm-4pm on Saturday December 18 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Peoria at Grand Prairie. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
