She was born on March 13, 1942 in Peoria, to George and Garnet (Dimon) Ruish. She married Walter D. Barden on May 6, 1961 at St. Mark Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2005.
Joyce is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma J. Parker; and mother-in-law, Irma Matarelli-Barden.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Cutter (Rick Hidden) of Huntsville, AR, Lori Fast (Scot) of Bartonville, and Donald Barden (Stacey) of Washington; grandchildren, Scott Cutter (Sara), Jayme Baker (Rodney), Eric Cutter (Chanda), Christopher Fast, Carli Fast, Kayla Fast, Alex Barden (Addy Green), Morgan Barden, and Taylor Ocker; nine great-grandchildren; and special friends, Amy and Rickey Beard.
Joyce attended Bradley University, receiving straight A's in her paralegal course. She worked for Chicago Title as a Closing Agent, and retired from First National Bank of America as a Loan Officer in 1993, but was a homemaker for many years before starting her career. After her retirement, Joyce was devoted to caring for her husband Walter.
Joyce was a long time member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and bowled with them for many years. She loved garage sales, gardening, coloring and having wine with friends, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
A visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at 10:30am, with a visitation to start one hour prior at 9:30am. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
