Janette M. Johnson White

She was born May 18, 1927 in Pulaski, IL to Roy L. and Farah M. (Burens) Johnson. She married Thomas White Sr. in Peoria on July 5, 1961. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wilma Jean; grandson, Donald “Dion” Page; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Surviving are 9 children, Lucille Page, Lenora (Leartic) Brooks, Sharon (Duane) Smith, Janice Haywood, Wanda Haywood, Sherry (Dannie) Sargent, Thomas White Jr., Darrick (Jean) White, Anthony (Doris) White Sr.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Knowles, Lenora (Albert) Hill; and 1 brother, Othel (Janice) Johnson.

She was a loving homemaker. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Peoria where she was the Church Mother and pianist for many years.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at her Church at 228 S. Webster St. in Peoria, additional visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Church with Elder Eddie Bell officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen.
