Peoria – James “Jim” E. Devore, 82, of Peoria, IL passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Heartland Health Care in Peoria. He was born August 14, 1934 in Chandlerville, IL to James and Elfrieda Devore. Jim married Florence Hatch on July 12, 1969 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are; his wife Florence Devore of Peoria, step-son Sid (Kathy) Hatch of Peoria, two granddaughters; Christy (Pete) Hoffman of Peoria and Patti (Lio) Ruiz of Bloomington, four great grandchildren; Kaylee and Krista Hubbard, Ashley and Ben Hoffman, great-great grandson Greyson, and his brother Donald (Margarite) Devore of Indianapolis, IN. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Jim retired from Caterpillar as a machinist after thirty years. He had a love for motorcycles, owning and operating Jim’s Indian Sales in Mossville for over twenty years. Jim was known for his mechanical abilities throughout the neighborhood. Services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
