Born March 10, 1934, in Peoria to Pearl G. and Thomas H. Worms, she married Bill Kallister on March 23, 1952. He passed away December 21, 2010, three months before their 59th anniversary. They had four children: Kenneth (who died in a motorcycle accident in 1984), Kevin of Dunlap, IL, Kristy (Neil) Sullivan of Peoria and The Villages, and her special daughter, Karen, who lives with Kristy & Neil. Jackie wanted to acknowledge Neil who was instrumental in her care these past few years. He was so good with her and went over-and-above to help her. Jackie had four grandchildren, Bill and Bob (Ken’s sons) and Jennifer and Jeffrey (Kevin’s children). Jackie is also survived by two great-grandsons: Ken and Kashton. She had one sibling who survives, Bonnie Payne, of Glen Ellyn, IL, sister- and brother-in-laws Martha and Dave Kallister, Tom Kallister, and Cindy Kallister, and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her father; mother; husband; son, Ken; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Kallister.
Jackie won the National Honor Society from Manual High School. Her volunteer work included: Cub Scout leader, school room-mother, giving tours for school children at the Planetarium, and delivering patient flowers/mail at St. Francis Hospital. For several years, she worked as a real estate agent for Kallister Realty.
Jackie loved golf and was an accomplished golfer. She won the Club Championship at Arrowhead Country Club, won two Club Championships and one City Championship in Sun City Center, FL, in addition to a Couples Championship with her husband. She had 5 holes-in-one including one last year when she turned 82. She belonged to a Bunco Club for over 60 years and was a member of the Home Extension Club and Peoria Garden Club.
Jackie was also an accomplished archer. She traveled to many national archery tournaments in numerous states winning many trophies and awards. Jackie and Bill were privileged to have traveled throughout the world on many trips including Europe, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Africa, many islands, and more.
Jackie was a sweet, beautiful lady with an infectious smile. She treasured her husband's sense of humor and liked to have fun and be entertained. In her prime, she was hard working, energetic, and vibrant. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Cal Rychener will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
