Irene Alice Blumenshine

Irene was born September 20, 1920 in Peoria, the daughter of William and Maude Miller Muhr. She married George F. Blumenshine July 4, 1939. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne (William) Cotton of Spring Bay and Sharon (Clyde) Cupples of New London, NC; three grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four step-brothers, four step-sisters, and one granddaughter, Marcey Ann Cotton-Crandell.

She was a member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church. She was past member of Peoria Motorcycle Club and American Legion Auxilary.

Irene worked in the office at Pitney-Bowes until her retirement.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services also at the chapel. Pastor Andy Hopp will officiate.

Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Parkview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center or River’s Edge United Methodist.
