Gary Lee Creamer, age 70, of Arrington, Tennessee, formerly of Brimfield, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on December 31, 1949 in Peoria, Illinois to William and Mildred (Frank) Creamer Sr. He grew up in Peoria Heights, graduating from Richwoods High School and earning a degree in Economics at Bradley University.
Gary spent the majority of his career in Sales and Marketing, starting at Keystone Steel and Wire Company and later moving to Caterpillar Inc. before retiring in 2010 after 37 years of service. After retirement Gary enjoyed working part-time for a long-time supplier and friend at Techom. Gary had an amazing love for his family and friends. He enjoyed taking family trips to the beach, playing games with friends, jeeping in Jamborees with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gary married Lynne Longbons on November 11, 2002 in Maui, Hawaii. She survives.
Gary is also survived by two children, Christopher Creamer of Covina, California and Jennifer Creamer of DuPont, Washington; three step children, Timothy (Sonia Christaldo) Bray of Asuncion, Paraguay, Stephanie (Kevin) Heuer of Austin, Texas, and Tricia Zabriskie of Franklin, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Jonathan Bray, Zoe Zabriskie, Zeke Zabriskie and Byron Heuer; three brothers, Robert (Joy) Creamer, James (Sally) Creamer and Paul (Cindy) Creamer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diana (Mayberry) Creamer, and one infant daughter, Julie Lynn Creamer and one brother, William Creamer Jr.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois. Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Masks and social distancing will be followed. Due to the Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Make-A-Wish Foundation in Gary’s honor.
