Eleanor F. (Morse) Roth

She was born on March 30, 1931, in Galesburg, IL, to James Leroy and Hazel Ruth (Lindstrom) Morse. She married Raymond A. Roth on July 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2003.

Surviving are her children, Ray of Anoka, MN, Kathy (Mike) Lelm of East Peoria, Mike (Kendra) of Kickapoo, Todd (Semone) of Germantown Hills; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Dawn) Roth, Adam (Nicole) Roth, Megan (David) Rufner, Brandon (Kristin) Lelm, Kristin (Ryan) Anderson, Morgan Roth, and Lauren Roth; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rollin (Vera) Morse of Metamora, IL and Lyal Morse of OR, and one sister, Dorothy Stegall of Galesburg, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lloyd and Carl Oberheizer and John Morse; two sisters, Fern Wetherbee and Shirley Bradford; one son, Roger Roth of Sandwich, IL.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, serving with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the quilting group. She was a thirty-year volunteer with Lutheran Braille Workers at Trinity Lutheran Church, a ten-year volunteer at the former Bel-Wood Nursing Home, and also a volunteer at the Neighborhood House where she spent many hours rolling newspapers for PAWS, and also sewing Christmas stockings for our troops. She was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club. Ellie was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan.

She was proud of her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and kept in her prayers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. The Rev. Karl Eckhoff will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
