She graduated from Abingdon High School and attended Brown’s Business College and Carl Sandburg Community College.
Donna and her husband Jack lived on a farm near Maquon, and later on a farm near Gilson. Donna moved to Knoxville with her children where they lived for several years. Then Donna relocated to Peoria.
Donna worked for a Mass Mutual Agent and later worked in several roles as a caseworker for the State of Illinois. A few years after she retired, she moved to Spring Hill, FL.
Donna enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, playing games, watching sports, reading the newspaper, and going to the beach. She loved to travel, especially to visit her children and grandchildren.
She has been a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church.
Donna is survived by her children, Leslie Lowney of Waverly, Nebraska, Stephanie Barnwell and her husband Scott of Spring Hill, FL, Scott Moore and his wife Amy of Crown Point, IN; her grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Heather, Nathan, Madeline and Jordan; her great grandchildren, Leo, Olivia, and Aria; and her nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Moore; as well as her parents and her siblings, Loren Smith, Margery Albin, Maxine Homer, Carl Max Smith and Eugene Smith.
On Saturday, February 4th, her visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel at 2021 N. University St., Peoria, IL from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Rev. Ethan Carnes will officiate.
