She was born August 15, 1937 in Pekin, IL to Fred and Hazel (Coats) Noard. She married Kenneth Knapp Sr. in 1955. She later married Harry Moore on January 2, 1977. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Surviving are her two children, Kenneth Knapp Jr. and Karen (Matt) Scheffler both of Morton; foster son, Shannon Buttram; eight grandchildren, Holli (Ben) Blount of San Antonio, Brian (Hope) Scheffler of Morton, Kevin (Reyna) Scheffler of Chicago, Jelly Ann, Jasmine, Aaliyah, Abby, and Amber Gutierrez of the Philippines; six great-grandchildren, Milam and Nolan Blount, Bailey (Gavin) Martin, Grayson and Ryder Scheffler, Ollie Scheffler; and one sister, Nancy Scheuermann.
Donna graduated from Tremont High School and Bradley University with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. She worked as a volunteer then as a teacher’s aide with P.A.R.C. She then taught at the Children's Home in Peoria, retiring in 1990. She had a special heart for children with emotional or physical disabilities, so much so she fostered Shannon since 1975 who remains dear to the family.
After retirement Donna volunteered at Methodist Hospital in the nursey and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program. She also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. At almost every stage of her life she was "helping" someone. Donna loved to travel by car, bus, boat or plane and was always ready for a road trip. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing, gardening, fishing and camping.
Cremation will be accorded and Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
