Donald was born July 8, 1932 in Peoria the son of Richard & Ethel Jones SuttonHe married Marilyn Jean Molek in Peoria on February 13, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 17, 1995. He later married Sharon (Snyder) Boesch on November 21, 1998 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Gill of Orlando, FL, and Diana Sutton of Grafton, WI; three brothers, Richard L. (Kay) Sutton of Peoria, Kenneth W. (Linda) Sutton and Ralph S. ( Lynda) Sutton both of Bartonville;and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death also by his parents and his first wife.
Donald was an employee of the United States Postal Servicefor over 30 years, retiring as Postmaster of Roanoke. He was a member of the American Legion, Tremont Sportsman Club, National Order of Forestersand a Lifetime member of the NRA. He also sat on the Board of Common Place.
Donald was an avid Rock Hound. He loved collecting coins, stamps and shells.
Hewas a member of United Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and Deacon. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 26, 2012at First English Lutheran Church.Rev. Dr. James R. Lilly will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m.Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel.There will also be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or First English Lutheran Church.
