Carl was born on February 6, 1965 in Peoria, IL to Gail William and Gail Elizabeth (Kemp) Carter.
Surviving are his father, G.W. Carter, Sr. of Princeville; his sister, Fawn Roger of Chillicothe; his brothers, Charles Carter of Phoenix, AZ and Gail (Melissa) Carter, Jr. of Santa Clara, CA; three nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail; his brother-in-law, Patrick; and his grandparents.
Carl was a loyal employee of 30 years for Rivercity Construction Company in Peoria and was a member of the Laborers Local 165. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, especially with a loyal hunting dog by his side. He trained and raised German Shorthair Pointers and they were always devoted to him. Carl would disappear into the woods each spring and always emerge with a sack full of morel mushrooms.
He was a hardworking, quiet guy who was intelligent, witty and thoughtful. He had a one-of-a-kind laugh and smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11am at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton in Peoria. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to PAWS. Online condolences may be made through www.woolsey-wilton.com
