Anne Kathryn (Hoehne) Giddens, 77, of Peoria, passed away Friday, January 26th at Carle Health (Proctor) Hospital. She was born November 9, 1946 in Peoria to Joseph and Kathryn (Holzinger) Hoehne. She was married to Curtis L Giddens. He preceded her in death in 2014.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Hoehne, and former husband Donald Kane.
Surviving are brother Steve (Christine) Hoehne of Seminole, Florida and sister Geralyn (Jim) Maroon of Seminole, Florida. Also surviving are daughter Laurie (Paul) Larsen of Peoria; son Robert of Hopewell; daughter Julie (Dan) Fitzpatrick of Bettendorf, Iowa; and four grandchildren: Megan and Rachel Giddens of Hopewell; and Sean and Kate Fitzpatrick of Bettendorf, Iowa.
Anne graduated from Academy of Our Lady High School. After raising her children, she worked at Ruppman Marketing Technologies/AFFINA for ten years, retiring in 2005. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, shopping, hanging out with her friends, and had a great sense of style. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
Per her request, no funeral service or memorial service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Memorials may be directed to Friends of the Peoria Public Library at https://peoriapubliclibrary.org/friends-of-the-library/
Cremation rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel; 2021 N University Street in Peoria.
