Albert Paul Walton, 94, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Farmington Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on April 15, 1929 in Rushville, a son of Albert T. Walton and Laura (Eagle) Walton. Albert married Donna Haimbaugh on December 6, 1952 in Rolla, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2012 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marion Walton and Bradley Walton; and five sisters, Mabel Walton, Helen Roudebush, Ethel Anderson, Pauline Dahme, Anna Lowe and Betty Browning.
Albert is survived by his daughter, Christine (Francis) Heskett of Bellevue; one grandson, Nick Heskett of Bartonville; one granddaughter, Cheryl (Paul) Quine of Durand; four great-grandchildren, Conner Heskett and Parker Heskett, both of Bartonville and Emily Quine and Amber Quine, both of Durand.
He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Albert worked for Hiram Walker in the grain elevator for 31 years, then went to work in housekeeping for Proctor Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Edwards. Albert was an avid BINGO player, known as the "BINGO King" at Villas of Holly Brook Bellevue and Farmington Village. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a true patriot. Albert especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Albert's funeral service will be private. Burial will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria with full military honors.
