On October 11, 2011, Suzanne K. Merritt was taken to her heavenly reward after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Merritt, her daughter Julianne Whitten (Buddy), her grandson Chris Whitten (Amy), and her great grandson Graham.
Suzanne was born on December 27, 1919, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Margaret Keller; her first husband William Edward Smith; and her brother Raymond Keller Jr.
Suzanne lived a life of quiet dignity, duty, and love. She was greatly loved by her family who will miss her unconditional support and devotion. She was our guiding light and will leave a tremendous void in our lives. Thank you, Mother, for everything.
There will be a private burial service for the family on Friday, October 14, at Bayview Memorial Park. There will also be a memorial service at Azalea Trace on Friday, November 4, at 10:30 am. Thank you Covenant Hospice and West Florida Home Care Services for the extra help during her final days. The family is also deeply grateful to Deborah Gable and Leora Ponds for their exceptional efforts in caring for Suzanne.
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.
