Susan Kay Russell

Susan “Sue” Kay Russell, age 69, of Pensacola, Florida, was called by her Father to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was a beloved wife, a loving mother, and a proud “Mimi”. Sue was born on May 12th, 1954, to Ellen and Elbert Goodwiller at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She married Terry Russell, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on May 15, 1976. They have four children: Kalyn Midgett (Dennis Grater), Steven (Heather) Russell, Jeffrey (Brittney) Russell, and Kami (Jason) McDonald. Sue is “Mimi” to ten precious grandchildren; Savanah, Paityn, Mason, Elizabeth, Hannah, Tanner, Grayson, Fischer, Brextyn, and Brielyn. Sue is also survived by her mother, Ellen “Peg” Goodwiller, and brothers, Dr. Steve (Jennifer) Goodwiller and Rev. Dr. Greg (Stefanie) Goodwiller.

She is preceded in death by her father, Elbert “Bert” Goodwiller.

Sue graduated from Plymouth High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Adrian College. Sue soon found her passion for helping others extended beyond the classroom. She earned her LPN and RN degrees from Pensacola Junior College. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for many years before pursuing her dream of becoming a Certified Diabetes Educator. Sue’s servant heart helped shape and save countless lives over the years. Sue retired in 2023, to start her absolute favorite and most fulfilling “job” of being a full time Mimi to her 10 grand babies.

Sue will be remembered for her heart of gold, her unwavering faith, her fun spirit, her beautiful singing voice, her undying love for her family, and her passion for helping others. Sue will live on in the hearts of each of her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. She will be missed immensely by all who were blessed to know her and love her.

A visitation for Susan will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Woodbine Church, 5200 Woodbine Rd, Pace, FL 32571. A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jimmy Allen officiating. Private family interment will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
