Robert Von Hilburn

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Von Hilburn, age 81 of Cantonment, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 6, 2018 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel in Pensacola. Pastor Alan Harp will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Monday. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola.

Mr. Hilburn was born March 23, 1937 in Andalusia, AL to Owen Hilburn and Christian Hilburn. He went to be with the Lord Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Mr. Hilburn served our country in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne, as Military Police and Security Police in Germany. He retired from Armstrong World industries and worked for the company in Pensacola and Marietta, PA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and belonged to the Rockie Branch Club and the Canoe Creek Club. Mr. Hilburn was a devoted family man and a member of the Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends and life. He never met a stranger and would make friends anywhere he went. His witty and outgoing personality will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Mr. Hilburn is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years: Alice Faye Smith Hilburn, his son Rockie Keith Hilburn, Sr.; daughter-in-law: LeeAnn Hilburn; four grandchildren: Brandy (George), Rockie, Jr., Matthew and Abbie (Jeff); five great grandchildren: Micheal, Trinity, McKenzie, Aubree and Gavin as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Robert Steven Hilburn.
