Richard Milton McGrew, M.D., 81, of Navarre died, Thursday, March 10, 2011.
Dr. McGrew was born November 03, 1929 to Richard Milton McGrew, Sr. and Nola Mann Sanders McGrew. He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans in May of 1959. Dr. McGrew served two years in the U. S. Army and was a patriot who loved his country. He was a constant face in the ER of Sacred Heart Hospital for over 15 years where he enjoyed treating his patients and their families. He was the team doctor for many of the area high school sports teams. Dr. McGrew was a man of strong Christian faith and was recently attending Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze. He was one of the kindest and most loving people that lived and his family was blessed to have him as a husband and father.
Dr. McGrew is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Louise King McGrew; brother, Chuck McGrew; sister, Judy Beam; 19 children; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2010 at Hickory Hammock Hammock Baptist Church in Milton.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday at the church.
