Patricia was born June 23, 1948 in Andalusia, Alabama to Walter Glenn DeLoach and Grace Reeves DeLoach. After graduating high school at Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, she attended Huntington College and Auburn University. Patricia enjoyed doing arts and crafts, dancing with her husband, Larry, spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, shopping at Talbots, spending time at the beach and listening to anything John Denver. She was very active in the communities she has lived in. She, along with Larry, was a co-chair of the Miss South Carolina Pageant in Lancaster, SC; she was a member of Garden Clubs in Tallahassee, Winter Garden and Crestview FL, as well as in Slidell, LA. Patricia also a co-chaired the Leon High School Chorus Show “Mikado”; was a former March of Dimes Board Member in Tallahassee and was a Girl Scout Leader. Out of all of the holidays celebrated throughout the year, Patricia’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she hated to see people spend the holidays alone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lucy D. Smith and husband, Otis W. Smith, Jr.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Larry Wayne Godwin; daughter, Laura Godwin Lykins and husband, John E. Lykins, Jr.; grandchildren, Jenny Caroline Lykins, Mary Catherine Lykins and Sarah Grace Lykins; and niece, Kimberly Brooke Smith.
The family will receive friends, in Pensacola, Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway with services beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Monday, December 16, 2024 the family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Foreman Funeral Home, 1516 MLK Expressway, Andalusia, AL followed by a graveside service and interment at the Andalusia Memorial Park Cemetery.
