Mavis Mcmanus

1933-2017

Mavis McManus, 84, went peacefully on Thursday November 30, 2017. She was born and raised in Bush, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethyl Taylor and James Ellis McLair; her brothers: Alvin, Alton, Freddie (Lawrence) and Sidney; sisters: Joyce Gay and Essie Cleveland and her son John Fitzmorris. She is survived by her husband, Casey McManus, her children: Susan Haag, Randy Fitzmorris and Lisa Upchurch; grandchildren: Jason Haag, Jennifer O’Connor, Kendra Odom, Casey Lee Ann Nettle, Johnathan Fitzmorris, Kenny Fitzmorris, and Tyler Upchurch; great-grandchildren: Susie Haag, Elizabeth Randall, Molly O’Connor, Rocky O’Connor, Mikey Kowalski, Savannah Kowalski, Alexis Fitzmorris and Delaney Nettle; brothers: Jim, Eugene, Raymond, Donald, David, Stephen and Stanley and sisters: Mamie Keller and Betty Ann Albin..

Mavis was a domestic engineer. She loved to cook, sew, crochet, travel and watch football –especially the Atlanta Falcons. The love of her life was her husband of 53 years, Casey McManus. They were very devoted to one another and shared hobbies such as gardening together. She was proud to be a military wife.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, immediately followed by a service.
