He was a talented and much sought after boat builder. Kenneth owned Commercial Marine Inc., also known as “the Boat Yard”, for many years. He was a graduate of Escambia High School and the University of West Florida.
Most of all Kenneth was a beloved brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was always available to lend a helping hand. He was a well known dog lover and was known to his family and friends as “the Dog whisperer”. His fish frying skills were nearly as legendary as his father was before him. He made everyone feel welcome.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Allie. He is survived by his siblings Martha (Bill), Tom (Linda), Leslie, and Don, and his nieces Melissa (Alex), Chris (Sheldon), and Katie. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday October 23, 2 PM in the fellowship hall of Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church at 57th Avenue & Lillian Highway (Pensacola). After a brief informal opening and a few comments by family, anyone who wishes can share a story, or memory of Kenneth. There will be a table for pictures. If you have them, please feel free to bring pictures of Kenneth to share.
The dress is informal (jeans, shorts, t-shirts) and we will finish the gathering with a fish fry. Join us if you can or feel free to attach a note to this announcement. Your prayers, thoughts and memories are appreciated.
COVID protocols (masks, distancing) are encouraged but not required.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oaklawnfunerals.com for the Danks family.
