1943 – 2010

Jerry L. Powell, 66, of Pensacola, died, Saturday, March 06, 2010 at home.

Jerry was born May 29, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana. He retired from the Lewis Bear Company in 1980. Jerry knew no strangers and was always there to lend a helping no matter what it might be that they needed. He always had a story to tell or a joke to make you laugh. Jerry loved collecting and refurbishing old cars. He loved his dogs, Toi and Haven.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Crick Powell; father, Paul Powell and brother, Kenneth Powell.

Jerry is survived by Suzie Powell, Terry Powell and wife Medin and Tony Powell and wife Candy; grandchildren, Nicola Lee Powell, Austin Powell, Taylor Powell and Quinton Powell; brother, David Powell; sisters, Nelda Cox and husband Tommy and Cheryl Hoyle and husband Bob; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Reverend Rod Clay officiating.

Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 09, 2010 at the funeral home.
