Jeffrey Lee Jarvis

Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Jarvis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away on March 29, 2022 at the age of 66 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest. Born on October 11, 1955, Jeff showed courage, strength, and perseverance throughout his life and stayed strong until the end.

Jeff served proudly in the United States Army and enjoyed sharing stories about being stationed in Germany and driving trucks all over Europe. He was a true patriot and loved his country. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Jeff had an exemplary career in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, serving in a variety of positions. He retired in June 2006.

Jeff graduated in May 2009 with honors from In Christ International Bible College with an Associate Degree in Theology.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jeff. He loved cooking, gardening, and canning. Jeff spent hours in his garden and loved sitting outside watching the squirrels and hummingbirds play. He was an extremely talented man and a true “Jack of all Trades”. He enjoyed telling stories about all the jobs he had and places he had visited when he traveled. Jeff loved fishing and the times he spent with his closest friends in Leeville, Louisiana, catching redfish, were some of his happiest times.

Jeff had a passionate love affair with Marlboro Light cigarettes, chocolate, and Fox News. He loved to share his extensive knowledge of history, politics, and world affairs.

Jeff is survived by his wife Tammy; his son David, his wife Jessica; his daughter Amber, her husband Andy; five grandchildren Alena, Dylan, Alex, Ayden, and Amara; nieces Lindsay and Sarah; long-time friends Tom and Wanda Goetzmann; and his beloved puppy and constant companion Baby Ruth.

He was preceded in death by his father Billy Jarvis; mother Ruby Loudermilk; step-father Mike Loudermilk; and brothers Timmy and Kraig.

Jeff will be honored at a graveside Honor Guard ceremony on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Bayview Memorial Park, followed by at backyard potluck and garden planting.
