1st Class Petty Officer Jamie Michael Nagel, 29, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away unexpectedly, Thursday August 13, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla., son of Charlene Rumsey (deceased) of Savona, NY and David Nagel. Survived by wife Alexis Nagel; daughters, Areyanna and Amelia Nagel, and in-laws James & Suzanne Hess all of Knotts Island, NC; grandparents, Geraldine & Ralph Pipe; siblings, Pamela Nagel, Matthew Nagel, and William Niver; and several nieces and nephews of NY.
Jamie was a 2009 graduate and Star Athlete of Watkins Glen High School, NY, thereafter serving as an Aircraft Mechanic, for 10 yrs in the US Navy within multiple Carrier Strike Groups with attachments to NAS OCEANA, NAS JACKSONVILLE, NAS LEMOORE and continued his service in The US Navy Reserves while enrolled in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and employed with Vertex Aerospace in Pensacola, Fla.
A visitation for Jamie will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N New Warrington Rd, Pensacola, Florida 32506. A memorial service will begin at, 12:00 pm. An inurnment will immediately follow 1:30 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida 32508 with military honors. A reception in memory of Jamie will follow back at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, and the family would like everyone to join.
Jamie's Grandmother and Cousin will be arranging his services and celebration of life, separately, in New York for Family and Friends.
