James Rayburn Moye, age 79, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2020. James was born in Brewton, Alabama on July 6, 1941. He was the son of Rayburn L. Moye and Geneva (Godwin) Moye. James grew up in the Cantonment area and graduated from Tate High School, class of ‘59. He later began his career at Monsanto/Cerex where he worked for over 40 years before retiring. He loved hunting and enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time on the Tensaw river.
James was proceeded in death by his parents, Rayburn and Geneva; step mother, Ruby Moye; wife, Dannie (Burch) Moye; sister, Rita Hall; twin sister, Mabry Landell; and brother, Johnny Moye.
He was survived by his stepsister, Monica Kramer; three sons, Ray (Trina) Moye, Keith (Rhonda) Moye, and Chris (Tonia) Moye; and the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Mary (Rex) Moye-Dease. He had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he dearly loved.
