He was born on August 22, 1926 to Richard and Jewel Huff in Gilliam, Missouri.
In 1944, at the age of 18, he joined the Army and served in WWII from 1944-1946. Harry was recalled to service in 1950 and fought in the Korean War. From 1950-1952 he served in Korea with the 1st Calvary Division where he was promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. During his time in Korea Harry was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.
After the Military Harry worked as an executive at Monsanto for 35 years, before retiring in 1989. During his retirement he enjoyed a life of reading books, taking relaxing walks and playing golf.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley Huff, and his parents.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters; Cheryl (John) Heron, of Tallahassee and Susan (Steven) Harting, of St Louis, Missouri; sister, Doris Cott, of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren Andrew (Sasha Alexandra) Harting, Aimee Harting, and Michael Heron.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, with a Funeral Service immediately following. Entombment to take place at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
